As part of broader modernization efforts, the Taiwan Broiler Breeding Farm has implemented significant equipment upgrades to align with Taiwan's net-zero and energy efficiency targets. The project focuses on enhancing environmental control, operational efficiency, and production stability, particularly under Taiwan's warm and humid climate conditions.
Current status before the upgrade
Before the upgrade, the farm faced several operational challenges, including:
• Limited control over airflow and indoor climate conditions
• Unstable ventilation performance during high temperatures
• More susceptible to thermal stress and environmental changes
• The feed distribution accuracy is relatively low, requiring significant manual intervention
These factors make it difficult to maintain consistent performance and comfort levels in breeding birds throughout the entire production cycle.
The solution provided by Big Dutchman, a customer supported by BMS
This upgrade focuses on providing and integrating modern poultry equipment systems, including
Ventilation and Climate Control
• Equipped with a tunnel ventilation system
• Enhanced airflow management for superior temperature and humidity control
• Indoor environmental conditions are more stable during high-temperature periods
Feeding and Watering System
• An automated feeding line designed for uniform material feeding
• Improve feed hygiene standards and reduce waste
• Reduce reliance on manual labor through automation
Control and Management
• Centralized control panel enhances operational monitoring capabilities
• Better monitoring and regulation of key environmental parameters
Operational Impact
After the equipment upgrade, the farm observed the following:
• The internal environmental climate control has been improved
• More effective heat stress management during periods of high temperature and humidity
• Daily operational conditions are more stable
• Enhanced efficiency through automation and system integration
All results are based on conservative operational observations and do not include estimated performance data.
In line with net-zero and energy efficiency targets
This project aligns with Taiwan's Net Zero Emissions and Agricultural Modernization Program, with key focuses including:
• Use energy-efficient ventilation equipment
• Optimize airflow to reduce unnecessary power consumption
• Improve system efficiency to support long-term sustainability
The upgrade serves as a practical example of how modern poultry systems can support national sustainable development goals while maintaining production feasibility.
